Fees
All competition team members have monthly tuition of $85.00 - this includes unlimited classes as well as rehearsals for the entire season (September through May).
Notes from Becky
Team members will be required to take at least 1-1/2 hr. ballet class, 1-1/2 hr. jazz/tap class & competition technique class - Remember.... the more classes you take, the better you will be so if you expect to be in special numbers, you should be taking more classes to have the opportunity to dance more to improve your skills. Rehearsals will be separate from your comp tech class. If you plan to be on team, you must plan to give up Sat. & probably many Sun. afternoons. Team members will be expected to maintain good attendance in all classes & will have a minimum of classes & rehearsals they are allowed to miss. Too many missed classes & rehearsals will remove them from the team. We have threatened to do this in the past but have let dancers slide - no more! - If you cannot go by the rules then you are not a team member. Parents must accept this rule. We have had many parents pull dancers from a scheduled rehearsal because they decided to "take a little trip" at last minute. Please know this could cost your child to be removed from team. Before we set our schedule for Sept. thru April please let me have a list of dates or times that will be inconvenient to you. I will work the schedule around these times. Once we have our schedule in place & you sign the comp. agreement, you must work your schedule around our schedule! (I realize there are sometimes circumstances that require you to miss - that is why you are allowed to miss a given number of times before you are removed from team. Just use these allowed misses wisely & you should have no problems.) Before auditioning, all dancers should take into consideration their school grades & outside activity load. Sometimes you have to make choices. Ask yourself these questions:
1. If a competition is the same weekend as prom, how will I feel? Can I really participate at comp with high energy or will I be dwelling on the fact that I had to miss prom - or worse yet, will I refuse to go to comp so I can go to prom? If so, then you should not be on comp team.
2. If a rained out track meet is rescheduled for the same time as comp rehearsal, which do I choose to do? If they answer is track, then you should do track & not be on comp team.
3. If you rehearse all the way thru Feb. & find out a ski trip for the French club is scheduled for the weekend of comp or the last rehearsal weekend before comp, what do you think you will want to do? Break your commitment to the team or fulfill your commitment?
Hope to see you at auditions ...................... Becky
